Welcoming Thomas to the team

Greetings! My name is Thomas Ng and I’m the Gifts in Wills Manager of the Development and Fundraising Office in the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. I have just recently joined the team at the end of 2021 and am really excited to be part of this amazing team serving you as our benefactors on this journey. 

I worked in various roles in IT for about 30 years before being called to do mission work with Catholic Mission, working on Major Gifts and Gifts in Wills as a Philanthropy Manager for the social service agency. Going from an IT background to the not-for-profit sector is a totally different ball game, and I have learned a lot for the past 8 years in charity work.

I have a big heart for the poor, sick, disabled and vulnerable, as was my background when I was much younger and was travelling to mission field slums in India, Cambodia and Vietnam. Those experiences were a great eye-opener for me. I want now to give back what I have been blessed with, and serve the people in need. 

I am most happy to share over a cuppa some stories of what I have seen and learned, and how you can participate and partner with us in various ministries, bringing love and hope in our local community. It honestly is a great joy to see people’s lives being transformed.
